Thoughts of her
I felt so safe under her wing,
The safety only a mother can bring -
Although she wasn't mine, nor anyone elses,
She stepped up to the plate and played the part
Trying desperately to piece me together and show me what I could be.
I defended her like a tiger,
Or so I thought.
Feeling a fire in my soul to protect her.
I tried to uncover fraud and show her truth,
Only to realize I'd broken her snow globe life.
Never did I realize that the truth I was forcing
Was only uncovering a private denial.
In my screams I brought about
The silence that would become our relationship forever.
The silence that I brought to your life.
