Finally, no more braces.
My lips feel too big, my teeth feel awkward, and my mouth feels empty. I feel like I lost a chunk of my life there, 5 going on 6 years of my life that were really really dear to me. Now that chunk of my life is probably in a dump somewhere, or wherever the hell old braces go.
It was weird and slightly disturbing though, that when my braces were finally removed, I tasted something I call age-old saliva. You know that taste in your mouth when you just woke up, especially when you haven't brushed your teeth the night before? Yeah, that taste.
But it's nice finally to be free. Goodbye braces, hello retainers.
