Last time, our Hero was looking forward to the collage concert with anticipation and only a moderate amount of nerves concerning the performance. Monday's snow-day, however, has thrown him for a loop and he has been mentally scrambling to figure out how to fill class time now that the concert that was scheduled for this evening has been canceled indefinitely.

"I can't believe the concert's been canceled!" he exclaims, more than a little relieved. "Now I have this music learned and prepared and nowhere to perform it! Sure the A Cappella choir is going to sing later at the Black History Month thing Mr. Calbert is putting on, and Bearcat is singing at the Bowling this on Saturday, but that leaves me near stranded with Blue&Gold Chorale. Now I have no idea what to do with them anymore because it's hard to teach them anything." Our Hero despairs in his living nightmare, wondering how to fill the time in his classes. "I think I am going to try some music history and theory with them and try to relate music to their everyday lives. Something-ANYTHING-that will give them a greater appreciation for music. Ha ha.. sending those girl back to class or calling Bearcat Watch was pretty fun... Conferences are Wednesday evening. Those should be interesting, if anyone even shows up. At least I'm getting paid for it. And then a half-day Thursday and no school Friday. Short week and thank God for it, but that also means I'm not getting paid for it. Grr. Not being a contracted teacher sucks when you're in a long-term subbing commitment, but not getting paid for snow days. Frak it all."

Thus ends this chapter of our story. Will our Hero make it through his classes until the end of the blessedly short week? Will the National Anthem gig on Saturday go well? Will they even show up? How will conferences go? You'll have to tune in next time to hear the gripping conclusion of the week!
