National Day Preview (Image Heavy)
It's worth blogging about really. One day in UK i discovered how to get entered into the ballot to get tickets. I went crazy burning with patriotism and used all the IC numbers of my family which i just so happen to memorise xP By shear dumb luck or perhaps someone felt my desperation to go, my brother got called up to collect tickets to the preview 1st Aug! :O
Overall Opinion of the event
I'll use a picture to describe this event on the whole:
Long zhong bao gao liao.
Lame jokes, all the famous national day songs, drum ensemble, contemp dances, cheerleaders, pole dancing o.o, army exercise etc.etc.
Too many things into one event which made song arrangements/changing really hard and hence horrid. :/
I doubt i have the patience to talk you through the whole event so i'll just do photos and see what opinions i have of it :)
Audience of the event
All these photographers were taking photos of the event and the audience. I thought it was funny and cooler to take THEM! :P Imagine these fellas were a semicircle radius of 5m around me. How big is the spectator stand? Imagine the number of SLRs/Cameras present. :O
I like how the background is pretty :) u wont get that at the old Padang.
The Stage
The Show Begins
The Red Lions All 12 of them are damn good! Such a short strip of tarmac for them to land on and they do it brilliantly :) The last guy who landed had a real hard landing because he came in at too high an altitude and speed. He had to run with his parachute to join the guys for a final bow. haha.
Young kids/Motivators were around at the beginning handing out twisted balloons and what not. Not entertained. lol.
Motivators become Cheerleaders! :S:S Carebear uniforms.
Lion dancers were part of this because of Ooo Sang Nila Utama found Singas on the island. THey used PROPER lions + Courtesy lion + Chinese dance lions o.o See what i mean by Long Zhong Bao Gao liao?
Then, the navy came together with all the SAF people to put on a 6 minute total defence display.

Then, the Salutation and Inspection and MarchPast was held!

21 rounds done on floating platforms/boats. which dint move an inch despite the heavy recoil. wonder whats the damping system like.
Big stickman turned ghastly. Inspired by Jack Neo's Where got Ghost? :P
Pole Dancing / gymnastics? Even then, omg, couldnt get better ones? :S:S Unglam. I know it's blur because this is at 200mm without IS and i dint have time to change modes :S but i just had to show everyone what pole dancers they were o.O
Many flags! Like the idea of this pigeon holes beside the two screens. Pop surprises each time like JubJub on High5! (dont ask me why i know that but i just do :P)
Electro man!!! sorry ive no idea what this was about. just looks pretty :) Apparently performed by NSmen.

This video reminds me of one of the many videos they screened. What kids want to be when they grow up. There were the usuals:
I want to be Doctor. Because i am not scared of blood. I want to be a pilot. Because i never flew a plane before. I want to be a lawyer. I want to be a teacher. I want to be the president!
The best. cutest kid ever. said: "I want to be a PSP HELPER. Help people play PSP."
LMAO.
The Love Themed
I doubt this was planned, but it looks like a heart :) Pretty! At the end of almost every chapter there's a short burst of fireworks. THis was one of it ^^
Lighted Heart torches we were given.Push Up for red, down for white. Powered by 3 AAA batteries. Interested parties leave a comment i sell u for one plate of chicken rice.

The thing i dont like about attending such events is.. the aftermath. We were redirected just in case we choked citylink mall which meant we had to walk double the distance or something. or at least it felt that. Good thing is that the crowd is significantly less so there wasnt any form of human traffic jam. or that's because we zao-ed early.
