Again.
The Steroid Era was supposed to be over when the Player’s Union passed the stringent drug testing policy four years ago, and yet, once a month a new name is dropped. So far, seven names have come out. That leaves 97 more to go. At two names a month, that's four years. Do we really want this wound to be fresh going into the 2013 World Series?
I understand that the players were told that these results would be held in the utmost of confidence, and I further understand that no punishment will be forthcoming, but the only thing that's being hurt by not releasing these names is MLB itself.
Here's the problem: The Commissioner doesn't have the list; it was given to the Player's Union. And, it was “sealed” by a federal judge. So it would actually be illegal for them to release the names. The penultimate catch 22...
