Clash on the big bridge! :) That warms my callous heart. FFV had such a bland cast of RPG stereotypes that Gilgamesh(along with Faris the cross-dressing pirate) really stood out with a cool, intimidating design offset by a charming incompetence. And his battle theme is so much fun.
Now Square-Enix just needs to put a next-gen Ultros in FFXIII, and all the tentacle fans can pair him with that hot female Squall. Because insane talking purple octopi need love too. :P
I also like Vaan's victory pose. I can just picture him practicing it in his room every morning before he goes out to slay monsters.
FFXII hits on Halloween. That means I have to complete Kingdom Hearts II, Dragon Quest VIII(seven months, seventy hours, and I still don't think I'm close), and all three Xenosagas in two months(I still haven't played II and III, and I don't remember a lot of plot details from the first one).
I also still haven't started Suikoden V(which I bought back in freaking March, on the same day as Kingdom Hearts II), but it took Austin 94 hours to beat. He said the first 20 hours are really boring, but then it gets really good. Which is kind of like saying that the first two hours of a movie suck, but the next ten are awesome. I think I'll just wait until I beat FFXII and devote myself to it in the winter months.
Oh, and there's Valkyrie Profile II in a few weeks, which is actually the one I'm looking forward to the most. I just love a game in which all the recruitable characters have a
"cause of death" section in their profiles.
