She wakes slowly in a bed of tears
Unable to move
Unwilling to breathe
And she speaks softly
Like the angels, we speak to in our dreams.
She walks delicately and alone tonight.
As she pushes her hair aside
And stares into the mirror, and waits.
For something more, for something real.
Could I be the answer?
Could my voice be the reason
That a smile hides the tears
She no longer wants to cry.
But they did.
Could there be an answer
To the questions
That she never bothered to ask.
She walks down the hall.
Oh with such grace.
Such mystifying beauty.
She floats all the way
To my heart,
And it stops.
It skips a beat.
All because of her.
She's everything I've wanted
But never expected to find.
Maybe if we tried,
Maybe if we believed.
So angelic, so surreal
Her eyes shine
Brighter still.
Throughout the night.
I close my eyes, but they're all I see.
They're all I need.
It's all I want,
And here she lies.
In perfect silence
Beauty is found
As time stands still once more.
She wants to fall.
I want to catch her.
I wait with open arms.
Waiting for a miracle
Looking for heaven
Once lost in your eyes,
Once spoken with your tongue.
This could be my reality
This beautiful fantasy.
With a story book ending
With pages torn in between
What is and what could be.
She smiles as she dances
In the rain.
Dancing under the moon
And all the stars.
But she shines brighter
Tonight.
I watch her dance
And I wish I could,
Take her hand and share
This dance.
Maybe just this once.
Maybe just forever.
Her face tells a story
That words never could.
Such a beautiful song.
With a sound so sweet
And innocent.
And she dances
In this perfect fantasy.
She is everything
She wants to be.
But what she doesn't know,
Is that she already is.
