So, Magia and Peligro are Shakira's first two albums, released in 1991 and 1993, respectively. She said herself that those albums did not reflect who she is at all, because later on she discovered rock music and fell completely in love with it. And rock influenced her music from 1995 on, which produced amazing albums.
Magia and Peligro consisted of songs that Shakira had written beginning when she was eight years old, so none of them were especially strong. I usually listen to Shakira's albums completely from start to finish and really love all of the songs, but I found myself skipping most of the songs on the first two albums. They weren't very well-written yet and the music wasn't too great.
But yesterday I decided to give the two albums another chance. And in doing so, I found two really wonderful songs. They're not the best written songs in the world, and they don't have the most amazing music, but there's something about them that's just really beautiful, and I love them.
The first song is from "Magia" and it's called "Magia". It's a really sweet song about a girl who's discovering what love really is and finding that she's willing to do anything for the one she loves.
The next song is from "Peligro" and it's called "Tu Seras La Historia de Mi Vida" (you'll be the story of my life). This song, despite it's lack of good writing and great music, is really wonderful, because the combination of all its elements really works well to reach out to your soul and make you really, really happy.
So, yeah, I definitely love those two songs. They're really wonderful. Even at 8 years old Shakira still wrote really great music and I love her for that. She's truly a great artist.
