I dont think I told you this before...but I think I should mention this. Jared, Russ(when he works again), and I are Papa John's delivery drivers. We go out driving in our own vehicles and take pizza to homes, buisnesses and whatnot.
Well, stop and think about it...the money is good. Actually, the money is fantastic! I got $80 in tips tonight.
Though...you have to think...how dangerous is our job? To answer your question...two Papa John's driver up in Kentucky died over carrying too much money on them. To think...these two guys were just like Jared and I....normal Joe Schmos doing their jobs.
You think that is something that could happen to us? It can! There is one sector I hate delivering to in our area....E3! That area consists of Lockeed Martain, Atlanta Rd, Dobbins, Southern Poly, South Cobb Dr, etc. Think about that area....pretty bad looking! We drive our cars over here...and take pizza over and carry money on us. You think we would be ripe targets for a mugging? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! Alot of people take us delivery boys for granted....we deliver to the best of areas...and the worst! We deal with bad tips...and rejoice in the great tips. We take the pizza to you...so that you dont have to venture out to get it yourself. We do all this...and yet there are people who dont tip and gie us a hard time. What kind of people are these who treat us that way....and yet we still carry on with good demenors and continue to deliver to the bad and the good...no matter the orders.
All this...with the risk of mugging, car accidents, crime, etc. We have a very dangerous job...but we do it because it is our job...and we do it willingly. It pays us well most of the time...though we are always aware of the risks.
I know all jobs have their risks....Kroger could be held up, but there are cops around watching those things...and cameras. Plus, you stay in a familar enviroment. We venture out to different, unfamilar enviroments with different types of people running around with different agendas. Our job takes us everywhere....good an bad.

So please, next time you order pizza....and they guy is late...take it easy on him/her. It is mostly likely not their fault, nor did they do it intentionally. Allow yourself to understand thier situation...and figure that they most likely have it rougher than most jobs.
Have some consideration for us drivers...we do our best to make sure your life is easier at the expense and risk of ours. Jared, Russ, and I do this....please show us that you understand what we go through!
