Went to bamboozle on sunday. expected rain. came prepared with emergency poncho. instead I ended up buuuuuurnt. burnt so so so bad.
-Cobra was awesome. Gabe can do belly shimmies like no one's business. It was Nate's bday. There was cake and birthday singing. <3
-Phantom Planet was fantastic! They were kind of insecure? if all the girlies were hanging out for Cab's show to start or if they were there to see them. They were great. Lots of energy and THEY SANG CALIFORNIA. <33333 yayay. There were also incantation and black magic shenanigans. umm. yeah. Vicky-T came to sing along to the chorus. awww.
-Cab! I'm not too crazy bout their album, except for a few new tracks, honestly. It's too poppy for me. Give 'em a few years to age, and we'll see. They are all kinds of adorable though. The crazy one with the hair is insane on guitar. Nice. There was a lot of bouncing. and a mosh pit of pushing in the middle when a couple girls railroaded their way to the front and everyone around protested. And hence the shoving of most epic proportions (or so I thought till we got to the panic pit omfg). There was also bonu surprise!Jon and sunglassed!Brendon in the back. oicu.
-Gym Class Heroes was awesome. Travis talked a bit about his detox, and we got to hear a new song that Disashi wrote about it. I'm really looking forward to their album this summer!!!11!! They covered Prince's 'When Doves Cry'. awesome. Lots of crowd surfing. wtf. Empty bottle throwing, which was pretty fun until assholes started throwing shoes, cds, and STILL FULL BOTTLES. ew. and also ouch. A couple people got nailed in the head and side of the face pretty good. yipes. I got one right between the eyes. haha.
-Panic. OMG. never ever again. We were pretty happy where we were but then we got pushed to about 6 feet from the stage, and it was insane. So much shoving (back front side to side) that everyone was knocked off their feet and everyone remained standing only because there was literally no air to breathe or move. No joke, a lot of the smaller girls were shoved to the ground a lot of times, but people helped them up. I hope that poor girl who was alone next to me got out ok. Alcohol, weed, college/hs shenanigans + assholes does not make for conducive watching. =/
Seriously. mosh pits and crowd surfing to Panic? wtf people. Not only are people going to get dropped (especially where there's clusters of girls who are unable to support 6 feet+ dudes and girls who are not so slim) but having to constantly look back to see if people's feet are heading towards your face also means you cannot enjoy the music. so.
We got/shoved/excused our way out. People were nice about making room to get out, thank god. We watched from a distance, and the show was awesome though. Brendon was really ripping through the vocals. They intro'ed 'Northern Downpour' as something special for them and for everyone to sing along. awwww <333 There was square dancing for 'Folkin' Around'. Batman and Robin crowd surfed to it. Ryan? Spencer? approved. The wind was whipping around so much that Ryan's bowl cut looked almost like his '06 faux hawk. heee. He also tried to toss his guitar picks into the crowd but he was no match for the wind. It kept flying right back to him. twice. heee. There was a really cute moment during where Brendon stalked Ryan, who kept taking steps backwards to match Brendon's forward steps. Ryan stalked Brendon right back until the two of them ended up near Jon and proceeded to have a trio of guitar huddle moment. Brendon demonstrated his tambourine skills (on his head). Who plays the 'Pas de Cheval' solo on the cd? Cause I thought it was Ryan, but live, Brendon does the solo.
-Saw a lot of bands we've never heard of. Sis also almost was almost picked up and sent crowd surfing and crushed in the mosh pit at All Time Low. hee. White Tie Affair was interesting enough that we got us a cd, also picking up Charlotte Sometimes when their cd hits.
-And now to recover from really bad sunburn (which will sadly fade and not into a tan.), listen to some awesome new music, and get ready for Wednesday.
