I write posts like that. Except I go ahead and post them because I usually have some lingering questions. :D

And that combination sounds AWESOME. I kind of want to do the reverse now!

yes! i'm going early 1840s because they seem to be done less than mid- or late 40s. so... 1840-43 range. :) i bought an early 40s bonnet form from timely tresses (the louisa ann, "deep" style)

Haha, awesome! I was just browsing their options... I definitely want a pink print, if I can find a good one. What corset are you using? Last time I checked, the jury was out on when the corset changed from the long, short-waisted 1820s/30s model to the shorter but long-waisted style.

i'm not sure! it's such a weird transitional period! i think i want to make a corset like this one for costume college. and there are lots of pictures of it on the website: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/73465037646932143/

this is from an 1837 fashion plate that already shows the "newer" shape:

but for the one-day, 5-hour long 1840s thing i'm doing next weekend i'll probably just wear my 1860s corset... i'm pretty long-waisted as it is! and i don't have much bosom to manipulate :-P
