Not a Shakespeare fan, are you? (Or too much of one, rather?) ;)

No, not really.... honestly. But I do like comediations of his works, i.e. Mitch Benn's rap of Macbeth, and all the Discworld reinterpretations.

Oooh, haven't heard the rap of Macbeth; have to track that down.

(Love the icons, btw!)

I'm (almost) as much of a fangirl for the Bard as I am for the Doctor

Me too. And you had me laughing loudly - this is brilliant.

Favourite lines:

"Is it not like a credenza made of wood?"

and:

"I could a tale unfold whose lightest word
Would gobsmack thee"

and:
know that I advocate not revenge

"In general sense. It can make a right mess of things -
Hast thou ever been to Sicily? Well then, that's my point."

You made my day. Excuse me, I'm going to go and read it again....

Thanks so much! The Doctor + The Bard is just so very right to me, somehow ...

Works for me! I reread your story - er, playscript - again this morning and enjoyed it as much as ever.

*whistles* I'm impressed with your grasp of Shakespearean language and phrasing - that looks like it was pretty difficult to write! I can only follow most Shakespeare after the third read-through, and I generally had an English teacher on hand to explain bits in high school. We used to read it out loud in class - I was Hecate in Macbeth, and Juliet for the poison-taking scene. It was always a bit easier to understand when it was read aloud, for some reason :o)
I love the Doctor's bits - it's a lovely balance between the right language and Ten's voice, all those more modern phrases sneaking in!
And the letter at the start - a wonderful touch :o) Sets off the rest of it quite perfectly.

Many thanks! (And I agree, Shakespeare is much easier to get a hold of when read aloud - that's what he wrote it for, after all, so it makes sense, Isuppose ...)
