I am too lazy to log in to the correct account, so:
First off, and this has absolutely ZERO to do with how you RP/write prompts, I love that you use the actual comic images as icons instead of digging up a possibly way wrong actor PB for the character. Love, love, love.
I also enjoy how very real Slade can come across in his conversations with Laine. He's very much the conservative family man in her eyes and the fact that he knows horses and rural living are just a bonus where she's concerned.
You also keep his voice and his characterization consistent which is a joy to read.
I prefer using the actual images of him -- mostly because finding a 6'4" white-haired older man with a white eye-patch and built like a brick outhouse would be damn near impossible -- and I'm always glad to hear people like them!
Slade... is definitely all of the above. He just sometimes goes off and fights giant mutant vampiric plague-carrying rat creatures from outer space (I kid not. Actual canon).
He likes talking to Laine and her solid common sense quite a bit. It's a welcome breath of the once-familiar, in his utterly crazy life.
Thanks so much. I... have probably spent far too much time getting into his crazy headspace for anyone's comfort, but at least it's paying off in being a pleasure to read.
Aryn: Is a fun OC in the same way Laine and Pippa are to me. She's a real person trying to cope with and accept life with some pretty surreal elements. She takes things in stride but isn't above the occasional freak out because OMG...there is some crazy shit in the world apparently.
Plus, hahahaha. Baby.
Savannah: Cookie Girl! Okay, honestly, she's not as well developed as Aryn, possibly because I just don't get to see more of her in prompts and role play as I do the other, but her voice and her PB gel really well and that's something that I always notice with OCs.
I like that she's got a backstory dealing with real world events but that it doesn't dominate her life or serve as a total all angst all the time sort of thing.
Awws. Aryn says 'some crazy shit' is an understatement, lol. She also says you're mean for laughing at her 'predicament'. But don't feel bad, no one is laughing louder than me and Remy's mun. :P
And yeah, I need to do more with Savannah, but her headmate *ahem, glares at the blonde* is shouting over her at present. I'm kinda hoping this new plot thing works out for her and opens things up more.
Anrai : He's the strong silent type and still waters run deep, blah blah...He carries a quiet authority with him that I think other people might read as being a bit aloof or a loner.
Other than Laine, he so rarely interacts with anyone that it's hard to say too much beyond how she sees him and likes being with the Irish Idiot. She gets to see the sense of humor and the kindness as well as the inner strength the man possesses. What I like is seeing the goofy sibling interactions he sometimes has with Rory. And the sometimes vulnerable side he lets others see. (also that random people think he's cute when he swears, poor bb
