Worry Spreads Far and Wide

ooc: takes place after this post.

Anraí had warned her of this, that he may need to travel to New York. To his younger brother. What she hadn't expected was the swiftness of the departure, the urgency in Anraí's haste to get to the eastern city where the majority of his family dwell. Where they all were currently. She'd hugged him tightly, murmured instructions that he be careful, be safe--give everyone her love.

She accepted what he was, unconditionally. That didn't mean she always understood him in the same vein. She certainly didn't know how it was that he and his kind could travel as they did but she wasn't going to question him. Not now. Not when she could see how badly he just wanted to be there. Laine didn't press for details, she merely let him go, secure in the knowledge that he would return soon.

And now that she was alone in the house, alone and able to finally contemplate the things he had shared with her (the horrifying information that his brother's girlfriend had been abducted and still remained missing somewhere in the vastness of New York City) Laine sought comfort in the one place she always looked first. She prayed. Her prayers were for Anraí's safe journey, for Rory's piece of mind, for Pippa to be returned unharmed.
