THE HISTORY-MAKING MEME
So your character has been attending Reims for a while now, but the game just started! It doesn't really make sense for them to be meeting everyone for the first time. Surely they would have seen these people in class, know the teachers by name?

Of course they would. And that's what we're here to figure out.➥1. Post a ( Read more... )

Hiccup | How to Train Your Dragon growingupviking April 26 2011, 05:46:18 UTC
Hiccup is 15 and when he first arrived he was kind of overwhelmed by OMG TECHNOLOGY since he comes from an island that's pretty much devoid of such things, and even though he tried to familiarize himself with it there's only so much he could get his hands on. So when he first got to Reims he was probably asking about every other thing.

HOWEVER once he got used to everything his real gift for engineering and math and science in general really showed itself, and he may very well be known as "that kid who builds weird stuff."

He's friendly but growing up in a small village where everyone thinks you're useless and a disappointing failure to tradition tends to make you rather self-conscious. When things go wrong, Hiccup is quick to blame himself, even if he's only partly to blame, and he's also quick to recognize his failures more than his successes. He's also a little astonished that anyone wants to be his friend. Seriously. Who wants to hang out with him?

AS FOR CLUBS he's probably on the math team and in science club? Stuff like that. He's terrible at sports and this is something that is actually a sore spot for him.

Hiccup started up this year so he's relatively newish.

Helloooo math team kid! Even if he's not running it, it would surprise me a lot if Galvatron wasn't involved with it somehow.

OH AND P.S. Because Berk is a tiny little backwards place he had a lot of catching up to do, which meant he was a library mole. That is my new term for it. But he got the hang of things relatively quickly and is now really excelling at math/science like I said, even if he still has trouble in the literature/history/writing departments.

He's still something of a library mole.

Feel free to have Hiccup gravitate to the bastion of computer technology that Marisa is.

He can mistake her as a middle school student given she's barely over 5ft tall. So, so short.

TECHNOLOGYYYYYYYY yes Hiccup would definitely be interested. He's not a computer whiz, his skills are mostly based around building things, but computers are super interesting, okay.

And she will almost always be seen with her laptop out, headphones or constantly on her phone. Easy to pounce in the common area.

Well. Not much pouncing will happen. But maybe the occasional "SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Only a little. She won't hurt him. Probably. And she'll feel bad about it afterward.

Welp. Guess it's happening. Somehow.

I would say they could bond over thinking they're useless and disappointing but Van never talks about that! Maybe later.

Anyways I think they are in the same year of middle school! Maybe Hiccup can have helped Vanyel with his math sometimes or something? I imagine it's not one of Van's strongest subjects.

Sure! Hiccup would have actually started off as not very good since he had a lot of catching up to do and he only arrived at the beginning of this year (MS-3 for him), but he caught up quickly and by mid-year was grasping a lot of higher-level stuff. SO SURE.

Van came in pretty recently so Hiccup will probably have been ahead of him by then!
