CHARACTER INFORMATION NAME: Antonio Fernandez Carriedo CANON: Axis Powers Hetalia CANON REFERENCE: http://hetalia.wikia.com/wiki/Spain AGE: 25 GENDER: Male TENURE: 3 Years
SUBJECT/POSITION: Counselor RESIDENCE: At the Academy
APPEARANCE: Antonio is relatively tall, standing at 5’11” in height, and is a fairly average weight for his height. He is well-muscled, but mostly in his arms and thighs. His hair is dark brown in color, and always a complete and utter mess, falling all over his head and into his face a little bit as well. His eyes are dark green and always seem to have a sort of sparkle to them, which just matches the constant smile/grin he has on his face. When he isn’t smiling, typically Antonio is either sleeping or looking really thoughtfully at something that’s quite shiny.
His skin is dark from countless hours spent in the sun, and he seems more than able to take care of large gardens for long periods of time. Antonio has a tendency to wear clothes that are a bit too large for him. They are typically of lower quality make as well, and are often rumpled as if he had been sleeping in them, which he does tend to do. This isn't strictly because these are the only clothes he has, but mostly because he prefers to dress comfortably, just in case he decides at the last minute to do some gardening. Also, Antonio will sometimes wear glasses frames. He doesn't actually need glasses, he just thinks the frames make him look smarter, so he wears them when he wants to feel extra-smart. PERSONALITY: The simplest way to describe Antonio is as an optimist. He lives completely under the belief that so long as the sun is shining and he wakes up every morning, life is good. He finds joy in the simple things in life - the way plants grow, watching people realize their potentials slowly but surely, eating a well-made meal, or spending time with somebody important to him. Every moment is a gift, and Antonio seems to understand this more than most people do.
Antonio has a very hard time showing any emotion other than his happiness, because he's afraid that if he stops being happy for even a moment, people who are on the brink of unhappiness will fall over the edge. So even when things are hard for him, he keeps on smiling and pretending like nothing is wrong in the world. This makes him very good at comforting and helping people emotionally, and he's a feel-good sort of person to be around.
On top of this, Antonio seems to suffer from a case of obliviousness coupled with minor ADD. He doesn't seem to understand hints if they're dropped subtley, and may not get them even if they're not subtle sometimes. He also is easily distracted, especially by things that are shiny or are something that he's intensely interested in anyway - for example, gardening or Italians. A portion of this obliviousness and tendency to be distracted is an act, used to keep subjects light and carefree and to make people forget about their troubles, but only a portion. Mostly, he just really is very dense and distractable.
When Antonio does get angry, he is a force to be reckoned with. He will stop at nothing to protect people that are dear to him. However, he is rather frightened of himself in an angered state, so he tries his very hardest to never end up like that. Which is part of why he always pushes so hard to be happy.
Lastly, Antonio is a very religious man. He is Catholic and believes in his God whole-heartedly. He draws a lot of his strength for everyday endeavors from praying and being spiritual in general. He attends church every Sunday without fail and has done so ever since he was very small.

COMPUTER APTITUDE: Antonio knows how to use a computer. He can type, post, and record, but that's about it. Oh, and he can make smiley faces. So many smiley faces. :-D
AU HISTORY: Antonio was the youngest child of seven. His parents owned a small farm in a small town outside of Madrid, Spain. They were never particularly well off, but they were a happy family. The moment Antonio was old enough to start helping his father in the fields, he did. His older sisters would often play with him when he was done, though, and managed to dress him in their clothes quite frequently, and Antonio never really cared. It was always nice to spend time with any members of his family. His three older brothers were all at least ten years older than him and so had a hard time connecting with him. And, being the baby of the family, Antonio was spoiled rotten at every opportunity. At least, as rotten as his mother could manage.
When he was sixteen years old, Antonio's father came down with an illness and passed away soon afterward. So his eldest brother inherited the farm, working hard to keep the family afloat. It was a hard time for all of them, especially Antonio's mother, and Antonio put forth all of his effort into trying to help everyone - whether with the manual labor in the fields, or the emotional problems that needed to be talked out in order to be healed. It was through this that Antonio discovered his love of helping people. After a lot of research and talking to his teachers at school, Antonio decided that he would make it into a college and study psychology.
As a determined individual, Antonio managed to pull off excellent grades in school and applied for every scholarship he could get his hands on. Through this hard work, he was accepted at the University of Madrid and got enough scholarship money to pay off most of his tuition. He said good-bye to his family and went to live in Madrid. While his tuition was mostly paid for, Antonio still had to pay for housing and a small portion of his schooling. So he got two part-time jobs and worked hard to earn his keep and get his schoolwork done as well. It was hard work, but Antonio was used to hard work. And he was also used to not having quite enough money, so he got by just fine.
At twenty-one, Antonio graduated with his degree in psychology only to discover that finding a job after getting a degree was always very hard. So he put his determination to this now, hunting down every potential job and applying for everything - big and small. This was how he discovered Reims. It just so happened they were in need of a counsellor, and Antonio's grades made him look very good on paper. While he had never really considered a career in helping school children, Antonio could not turn down the opportunity and soon found himself loving the environment he worked in. And, best of all, it gave him a steady income, part of which he still sends back to his family in Spain. JUSTIFICATION: After many years of schooling and specializing in psychology, Antonio is more than qualified for the job he was hired for. on top of that, when he applied for the job, he gave a great interview, telling the story of how he had helped his family through their troubled times and how that had lead him to wanting to help other people as well. He told of his hard work to earn the scholarships to go to school and also of having to work two jobs at the same time as going to school full-time.
Through his history, Antonio gives off a good vibe of being a very hard worker and somebody who is very reliable. Despite the fact that he has a somewhat flighty personality, he is still trustworthy and dependable, especially when it comes to things he cares about. And helping people who are in need of it is certainly something that he cares about a lot.

A memo for all students!
Hola! It's your friendly counsellor, Antonio, with a reminder. This Thursday at 6:00pm, there will be a mandatory lecture for all students concerning safe sex! You'll learn how to use condoms properly and what birth control is all about. :-) Just remember, this is to keep you safe. Don't have sex until you're married, kids! At least, don't have sex on school property or you might get in trouble. ;-)
Here's hoping I'll see you all there! Don't be late.

LOG/3RD PERSON SAMPLE
Humming a little, Antonio carefully set a tomato on his desk in front of himself. He studied how it was sitting for a moment and then moved it a little away from himself and looked across to the seat in front of his desk. "Perfect!" he announced aloud to nobody in particular, especially since there was nobody in the office right now anyway.
At the moment, he was waiting for a student that had scheduled an appointment with him. It had taken a lot of convincing from Antonio to get the boy to agree to a short session, but Antonio was sure that it would be worth it. He had noticed the boy's grades slipping and that he was secluding himself from the rest of his classmates. There was obviously something wrong, and Antonio was determined to find out what it was and help fix the problem.
That was the reason for the tomato. Antonio had decided a long time ago that offering an ailing person food tended to lift their spirits, at least marginally. It showed that you were thinking about them and wanted to nourish them. And since Antonio's favorite food was a tomato - and most of the school knew it - offering a tomato showed that he was willing to give up something that he personally loved in order to help the person he was giving it to.
As a knock sounded on the door, Antonio looked up and smiled brightly as he spoke. "Come on in." The young boy stepped inside, looking very displeased at having to be here. Antonio just kept smiling, though, and gestured to the seat across from him. "Have a seat. Oh, and a tomato too. I just picked it fresh from my garden this morning, so it should be very good." The boy sat and picked up the tomato, picking at it with his fingers a little before looking up at Antonio expectantly.
Alright, it was time to start working.
