Problem two: it was hardly the quietest place to study. No matter where he went on campus there seemed to be someone nearby doing something loud, be it smaller children playing tag on the grounds or older ones practicing guitar in a courtyard. It wasn't until he'd drifted all the way to the docks he found peace and quiet, and only, he was certain, because the roar of the water was drowning out voices that might have carried this far. He'd always liked this area, watching the water while he went over vocabulary. There was even, he remembered a bit wryly, the time he and Feliks had gone down, had an argument, and he'd ended up falling off the dock and into the water, which necessitated replacement books, redoing of homework, and not speaking to Feliks for a week. He let his feet dangle off the dock and stared out for a moment, half trying to spot fish and half just enjoying the day.
And then a stray kickball slammed into him from behind and he dove to grab his books before they fell into the water. His homework, however, wasn't so lucky. He groaned as he watched it drift away on the water.
