[ Jade, of course, was perhaps far too excited to meet everyone. Of course she had known John beforehand--that much was obvious. However, she hadn't seen him in quite a while. Bouncing in, she looks around before waving enthusiastically in Roses's direction. ] Rose!!

[ dave walks in with his usual shitty hands-shoved-in-pocket, head-slightly-tilted-down posture and somewhat smug but pokerface expression. even with excitement ringing in the back of his head like some jerkass from the salvation army in a santa suit getting attention for donations on a street corner during christmas time, he couldn't bring himself to do more than crack a cheesy smile to himself in solitude. yes, the solitude that is his dorm room half the time. that's pretty damnable.

he feels a sort of maladroit uneasiness crawling and grating at his skin, but he dismisses it as jittery perturbation; i mean, who wouldn't be nervous about meeting their best friends in real life for the first time ever? well, john's an exception, but still -- this is something big.

when he catches sight of jade making her way towards rose, he speeds up the pace of his walking, and wipes any bit of snappish urges from his mind. goddammit, stop that feathery balking shit. be cool. ]

[ is there anything more exciting than meeting all of your best friends for the first time ever? NOPE. john was way to eager to make his way down to the cafeteria with with fast, but awkward, steps.

when he gets there, it takes him a minute to try to find his friends but then he sees jade, and dave soon after, his eyes following jade's path until he sees rose.

the biggest dork grin you can imagine when john starts running towards the quickly-forming group, and as soon as he's close enough he lunges onto his poker-faced friend. ]

Daaaave! Jade! Rooooose!!

[When she sees them coming one by one it's rather over-whelming. For a moment she tries not to smile as Jade and even Dave come in. But when John and all his enthusiasm comes through the door and rushes at them, it becomes too hard for her to force a flat faced look. So instead she goes on for a full Duchenne smile. One that couldn't be faked by any normal means and was frankly genuine. She didn't want to feel ambivalent or unsure about this. They were all friends before and meeting in person shouldn't change that. So she smiles at the three as they all get to the table.]

Glad everyone could be here on such short notice. Next time we meet I'll try to plan something a bit more timely, so I apologize for the sudden developments.

[lunchmuffs]

[ When Jade hears Dave's voice, her face lights up--even more so when John calls for her. Practically running towards John, she quickly gives her brother a hug, followed by doing so to Rose, and then finally, Dave--each one brief, but the thought was still there. ]

We should all try to do something really fun together...!

[ why can't he hold all of these hugs.

god, ok, it's getting a little unbearable to keep a straight face. maybe they'll notice a slight curve in dave's lips -- one that most people don't see, or don't get the chance to. he struggles a bit under john's weight, giving him an almost satisfied look, before letting go and falling into jade's short, but sweet, hug.

he hugs back, ever so slightly, without flinching much. dave is getting better at the whole ... physical contact thing. he's stupidly exultant, maybe that with some elated excitement still making his heart pump to a silent rhythm; what the hell is this? he's so endeared to john and jade's joyful demeanor, like a child. ]

Yeah, I'm personally not diggin' the whole wafting arouma of fried chicken and snail in the air right now, it's ruining the moment. [ jade, that earns a cocked eyebrow. ] Fun?

[ give all the hugs ALL OF THEM

john's not even trying to hide his happiness and excitement. it feels like he's been waiting forever for this moment, he needs to make every second count. he gladly accepts jade's hug and moves on to rose to continue the hugfest. it's so strange, to have these people tangible and in his arms, instead of just personalities seen through colored text on the computer. ]

I don't know, Dave, I thought the fried snail chicken set the mood pretty well-- and I agree with Jade! We should do something awesome!

[All these hugs man she can't take it. Well she'll return both of Jade and Dave's hugs and not be surprised when Dave doesn't move to make any. Always the slick and cool brother. It was nice seeing everyone.]

I can't say I like it either, but this is the most well-known area on campus. Next time I'll arrange a place with air freshener, just for you. [She says, lightly patting her brother on the shoulder.] So, what 'awesome' thing do you all want to do? I didn't really plan anything ahead of meeting in a cafeteria.

Heheh, yeah! John is right! The food in the cafeteria is not bad at all!

[ Jade appears to be contemplative for a second, before looking to Dave. ] I am not sure! What do you think something awesome would be to do, Mr. Cool Guy?

[ not that he's hungry or anything.

dave can't help but smirk; that cool act is hard to maintain when he's around these idiots. he just can't help himself; to cover up for the embarrassing display, he shoves his hands in his pocket and looks downcast. ] Knowing you, it'd probably smell like pretentious shit. [ and the snark begins. dave impassively glances and john, then jade, though it's hard to tell through his glasses. ] So I get to decide? How about we get something to eat, before anything else.
