CHARACTERS: France/Marianne-Sophie LOCATION/SETTING: Home Ec room DATE & TIME: 3rd of July WARNINGS: none... yet. SUMMARY: Mme Bonnefois is getting a little baking done before the weekend.
Apprehensive was not strong enough a word to really cover what she was going to do. But Ms. Bonnefois was known for frequenting the home economics kitchens when there was free time, and she had to do it. She had to take the first step. Knocking on the door, she peered into the classroom, looking around.
Marie looked round over her shoulder, ready to scare people out of her kitchen. However, when she saw a fellow teacher, she smiled brightly and turned the heat down on the stove so she could properly greet Ms Walters.
She walked over, put her hands on Jennifer's arms and kissed her cheek.
Jennifer found herself slightly taken aback by the familiar greeting, but she allowed it because she was there to ask a favor. The home economic teacher insisted on being called by her first name, so she nodded and went with it.
"Then please call me Jennifer. Do you have the time to give me a simple lesson or two in cooking?"
"Oh...I'm not realy learning for me. Just to learn."
Okay, so it was hard not to mention why in particular she wanted to learn, but she was going to learn something. She had to at least be able to make something in return for Jun's efforts. Glancing around the kitchen, she shrugged slightly.
"I'm not really picky. I just want to learn some of the basic stuff."
"The last time I tried to make toast, I burned it." Jennifer admitted. "The only things I ever manage to make that are particularly edible are tea and salad from a bag."
She shrugged her shoulders a little. "My mother did all the cooking until she passed away, then my father hired a housekeeper. So I never really learned anything."
"Ms. Bonnefois?"

"But how basic is basic? Cheese on toast? Escargot? Spaghetti?" she asked, curiously.
