Good day, Reims Academy. I hear it is common procedure to introduce onesself over the intranet. My name is Yuyuko Saigyouji and I am a new student here.

I thank you all and look forward to meeting you. [Somewhat a lie; she's terrified of the idea, but it's polite to say it]

It's a pleasure to meet you, then. I'm Momiji Inubashiri. May I ask what part of Japan you are from?

I moved out here from my most recent home at the north of Tokyo.

Ah, and it is a pleasure to meet you as well, Inubashiri-san.

I'm from Lake Suwa, myself. It takes some getting used to, this whole... European thing.

It seems like it would. The culture here is so very unique. People seem friendly enough though, I suppose. Especially knowing I am not from anywhere near here.

The people of the school and town are pretty used to foreign students, given this school has an international enrollment.

That is what I assumed was their reason for being so helpful.

It would help, I believe, if my grasp of spoken English was a bit better, or perhaps less accented. Still, it hasn't been as unpleasant as it seems it would.

I'm sure you can find many tutors.

I would not doubt that, myself. [That would require talking to them. But oh well. No one's really aware of the depth of the damage yet, and if she can help it, no one will.]

That is as well. I know enough to get by, but I am far better at reading and writing it than I ever will be at speaking it.

Your father?

Yes. Saigyouji Norikiyou... ah. Not to be confused with the poet that lived several hundred years ago, though my family can trace their lineage back to him.

If you are interested in poetry, I wonder if you have heard of him?

Ah! I have heard of him! I have some of his works!

Do you? Ah, well. Then yes, that was something he once said.
