Vurt Ninjas 7: No one is safe from the Vurt. Resistance is futile.

Part of it is that Sasuke's mom was a shadowgirl and she died/disappeared into the Vurt (that's what Itachi tells Sasuke happened, but Sasuke doesn't want to believe him because Itachi also tells him that he was originally a Vurt trade--Itachi's a jerk) when he was really young, but it's mostly because he's intensely uncomfortable in his skin, because he doesn't understand what the hell's up with him either. He's mellowed a little since meeting Naruto, like he doesn't fight as brutally as he used to (well, 'til recently), but still he doesn't like essentially faking being a girl to get through life. It gave him quite a few identity issues when he was a teenager (though, again, Itachi--so not a help there).
I swear I'm going to write a scene with Jiraiya working on the feathers somewhere. I love the thought of him pulling his ponytail up with a hairclip or something to keep it out of the phantasm liquid stuff.
