i tend to run across some interesting links and am usually tempted to repost them here. and i ran across one today that was good enough to make me go through with it.
Oh crap, yanni You are Elizabeth Bathory. (The bloodcountess)
Legend tells us that you, this very rich,
beautiful and high born woman tortured and
murdered some 650 young women and bathed in
their warm blood to keep yourself beautiful.
In some stories, it is said you have drank thier
blood as well. You were a sexual sadist on a
grand scale.
Ah vanity is your downfall. For shame!
Which Infamous criminal are you? brought to you by
Quizilla now for the serious stuff.
i was gonna do this big long rant about how i want to physically injury michael rounds, the gov of s. dakota for comparing roe vs wade and his outrageous new law with plessey vs ferguson and brown vs board of education but i'm done that enough today.
stupid white men who think they can tell everyone else what to do!
ANGER.
my point is, without fully stating my argument, that you do not have the right to tell someone what to do with their bodies and how dare you compare your denial of freedoms with the gaining of freedoms during the civil rights movement! they are COMPLETE OPPOSITES!
bastards.
i'll say another thing too. there is only so much blame you can put on lack of sex ed in school. kids learn things. sure, they learn the most basic things, but that doesn't mean that they don't know that vagina + penis = baby. and that condoms can help counteract that. if sex ed was the first time any child encountered that idea i think i want to slap their parents.
you can't say that children don't figure out condom usage but say that children figure out violence from the media. IT DOES NOT WORK.
1. common sense.
2. parents.
these are the biggest methods of prevention we have. if you don't have common sense, you need even better parenting. blaming the media is avoiding the biggest issue, which is that you are not raising your child right. plain and simple.
when i was 5 my sister was watching some movie where these teenagers could fly, so there was a point in the movie where the kid jumps off of the school roof and flies off. my mom says to me "don't try and jump off any roofs cuz you're not gonna fly."
GOOD. FUCKING. PARENTING.
if at 5 i didn't have the common sense to tell me i'm not aerodynamic, my mother was there to do it.
that's what parents are for.
parents have a responsible to make kids aware of sex. you can't take no steps whatsoever and expect schools to do it. it should be a combined effort. cuz, like i said, kids will pick up the idea of sex, and they will hear about condoms, but they won't necessarily hear about other extremely important things like stds.
the moral of the story is: take some fucking responsibility for your children. understand whether they've got the common sense/ comprehension level for the media they interact with. and do not say that lack/ insufficient sex ed is the cause for teen pregnancy, cuz you know what, it's not. just ask any pregnant teen that went to my high school where i know all students learned the same thing i did.
and if you're like molly and from someplace like texas, the same thing goes. if your school doesn't do any sex ed, then it's up to your parents. there's no reason we should be having these complaints.
people are fucking stupid.
