Isaac is only applying to schools in or near NYC, JUST FOR ME.
It kind of limits his options to programs that are very good but extremely difficult to get in to and will require a lot more work and a much greater probability that he would have to transfer or defer enrollment or even apply more than once, but he's still doing it. We spent seven hours straight (!!) talking about it, weighing his options and stuff. At first we were just sending messages back and forth and then on the phone and after I told him what I thought he said he would rather just apply to the schools he wants in NYC than set up a situation where he would move cross country and still be a day's drive away from here. Now partially this is because he wants to work in recording and that industry is very highly concentrated in NYC (internship opportunities much?) but a lot of it is because I'm here.
