Well, we finally made it home from the hospital yesterday without any major glitches or events! :) It looks like the fluid pockets in mom's lungs are shrinking (the right side one is gone and the left are on their way out too) and her breathing has improved alot. Her stats (pulse, blood pressure, O2 saturation) looked good too, even without supplemental oxygen, so the Doc wanted to send her home before - in his words - she caught something really awful there at the hospital. Works for us!
So far we're doing really well. Looks like we won't need to keep the home O2 unit we rented past the 30 days we have it. Mom is also reconsidering whether or not she really needs the in-home health service. Barring unforseen complications I should even be able to go back to work next week. :)
