I feel like I haven't posted in awhile and since I have some time to "kill", I'll give a quick update:
I have a job! I work at a hookah bar in the Gaslamp District downtown called Cafe Lulu's. It's really cool, it's Mediterrean. I get to hang out with cool people and smoke hookah all night. I even get to serve alcohol. (It'll help me to start working on my bartending skills.;o) And when I'm there I can just have fun and enjoy being young. It's great, it's what I need.
Alexis, Edward and I volunteered at my elementary school on Saturday. We spent the whole morning raking and picking up very old leaves that were probably there when I went to school there. It was fun and wonderful to be volunteering again. I missed it.
Alexis and I are doing AIDS Walk next Sunday. We're volunteering. It'll be my fourth year in a row doing it. It's one of those annual events that I let myself sit back to reflect on my past year and ponder where I shall go the next. (It's always a surprise. Who knew 8 months in New York would be a part of this year's reflection?! Craziness.)
I miss people in New York. We had some good times. It's funny that I spent most of my last days trying to distance myself so I wouldn't miss them... but of course, it didn't work. It never does. (So I should stop doing it!) Oh blah dee.
It's nice to be home. It's very peaceful. I spent some of today going through boxes to figure out what I want to keep for the move. Ah, memories. It's always fun to stumble across old ponderings and spurts of creativity/youth/wisdom. It's refreshing. But then I know the next time I'll see them again... is when I'm going through my old boxes trying to figure out what I want to throw away. I'm a pack rat really. I wish I could throw everything away and just drive up there with nothing but a bed and my backpack.
I can't wait to be back in school again and acting. I miss acting. But at least this time has allowed me to reconnect with it and know exactly where I want to go with it. :o)
