His 14th grand slam title & first ever Roland Garros title :)

The title he desperately wanted more than anyone else would and the title that completed his career record. He now became the sixth man to win all four grand slams tournaments.

Having watched him grew as a tennis player, from a nobody to where he is today, I almost tear as I witness him fell on the ground with such extreme exuberance. I’ve been there since he played exciting matches against Agassi, trashed the then world number 1 Safin, been there as he held his first grand slam title with much pride & joy. I’ve also been there to watch painfully as his world number one title got snatched by his all-time great rivalry Nadal, was there to endure the past few years agonising Roland Garros finals, all of which whom he lost to the same guy. Just when we thought he has reached his prime, that he’ll always be remembered as the “man who has never won Roland Garros”, he proved us wrong.

And today, he made history.

The moment all of us have been waiting for finally came alive.

On a sidenote, Soderling was a worthy opponent though I’m dead certain Fed would have been pleased and happier if it was Nadal instead. Nevertheless, Solderling accepted his defeat graciously and he mentioned, “Federer is the greatest player in history. He totally deserves this title”.  I so love that guy for his eloquent speech, hahaha.

Next up, Wimbledon.
C’mon fed, get your 15th to inch up the ladder of grand slams record holders to surpass Sampras.

:), tennis
