So this is my first post and I've decided to share the story about my hair...
Ever since a friend of mine cut off a big chunk of her hair and told me she donated it to Locks of Love I thought "I really want to do that". You know since I love kids and all. So about a week ago I whipped out my ruler and started measuring my hair everyday to make sure that I would be okay without 10 inches of my hair. I told my boyfriend about it and he was 100% behind me. My roommate, Jillian, being the crazy person that she is, was like "Do it!". My other roommate, Shalanda, was like "It's just hair." Shalanda was telling me about this website where you can use a picture of yourself and add wigs to it to see what you would look like with different hair styles and different hair color. Still not convinced to go through with it, Jillian and I sat for a good hour going through the options of hair. It think this is the funniest thing I've ever seen.
I also started playing with a picture of me with my hair down on a photo editing program on my laptop. Jillian told me I looked like a Cocker Spaniel and Carlos said that I looked like my mom. Now I was left with asking the most important person in my life her opinion of me chopping off 10 inches. So I called my mom. She told me that my hair was a part of me and that she knows that I wouldn't take care of it. After getting off the phone with my mom I decided that I was gonna "do it!"
So, I'm at Great Clips and the lady apparently has never done the whole donate-hair thing. She didn't know that my hair had to be dry and in a pony tail for her to cut it and then wash it and style it after the 10 inches were gone. She was trying to measure my hair with the comb instead of a ruler and started telling me that it would be just to my earlobes when she cut it. I almost jumped out of the chair and said forget it. But of course in the background I hear Jillian yelling "Do it!...Do it!...Do it!" Finally, a lady that knew more came to the rescue but she wasn't very friendly. Anyway, I'll talk about that later. So, they put my hair in a pony tail and before I knew it, it was GONE! I didn't want to open my eyes but I did and when I looked in the mirror it really wasn't that bad.
Jillian then decided that she wanted to get her hair cut too but she wasn't so lucky and got the mean lady who told her how messed up her hair was. Then she turned around and tried to sell hair all the products on the shelf that were like a million dollars each.
I'll try to post up the pics of my new do, but I've noticed that LJ is not very user friendly.
btw, don't be disappointed if I don't update everyday.
The end, for now.
