I probably should, only late night is when I get the peace and quiet to write anything. Otherwise I've got toddler!nephew, baby!nephew, and Other Teenage Cousin to keep life exciting and hazardous to furniture.

Will sleep earlier tonight, though (as in, before 2 AM) because we're leaving for Taal Volcano tomorrow morning. I am told there may be horse riding.

WISH YOU WERE HERE.

Thank you ♥ I do wonder what they did while waiting out the time. Not sure if I entirely agree that Jack and Ianto would get back in the shack so soon, but I figured they both needed some happy-time.

I really appreciate you staying with this, sweetie, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Thanks, love. It's run me a little ragged, though, and today's prompt has me stumped.

That said, I haven't posted anything in months, so this is probably some kind of payback from the muses.

Oh no, not stumped! :(

Yeah, those muses can be wily minxes.

Not sure why he's surprised by this: the wearyingly familiar feeling of a soldier come home from a long war, finding family and life no longer fitting like he remembers.

Jack thinks, maybe, that he would answer Ianto's questions, the ones that he can never really answer for Gwen; but, of course, Ianto never asks.

These 2 lines really jumped out at me. I can't figure out exactly how to phrase this (guess that's why you're the writer), but the contrast of Owen's behavior with Jack's melancholy was very affecting.

Thank you so much! I especially appreciate you pointing out which lines worked for you, because that's very helpful to me. I did want to show a difference between Owen and Jack, because of course Owen's been with the team all along and Jack is the outsider her.

I'm glad you enjoyed my fic!
