Brian knows that a growing teenager like Justin needs to experience the full freedom of being young and gay. He’s pushed him, because he’s seen first-hand what getting too attached to someone at an early age can do.
He thinks that part of the reason Michael hates Justin so much is because Justin still has the chance to change.
He’s aware of all this. Then he sees Justin dancing in somebody else’s arms, and his body automatically switches to interception mode. His body knew from the start that the future is not for righting the past.
It's for something new.
