I'm late to the SPN party but am gradually working my way through fic and found the podfic of this. It's such a gripping and involving story that I kind of wanted to stop doing things and just sit and listen (riding my bike was *not* possible at that point!)

One of the things I've been trying to do through fic is understand Sam, the way I don't always on screen, and this had me hooked. You get so under his skin, so spot on that I finished both feeling like I knew him and wanting more.

Thanks for the comment! This was part of a series I wrote as my own entre into the fandom -- at that time, I couldn't write Dean at all and defaulted to a Sam I thought I understood well.

I'm so glad you liked the podfic! It was a terrific reading and I felt much the same about needing to sit and listen -- it felt like it was someone else's story, very much!

Also ended up here from the podfic. This was a very interesting way to frame the beginning of Sam's transition from Winchester hunter to his own self in a new setting. I particularly loved the way the fic ended and the choice of title.
