No matter your feelings on the current Mideast conflict, please keep everythere in your thoughts. I won't say anything about innocents, or governments, or things of that nature, but I'm so very thankful that Jaiza and Keff made it out before the blockade.

I suppose that's one of the downsides to having friends who travel everywhere, despite (or because of) the political climate, just as it's a downside to growing up military, to growing up 'everywhere' as opposed to a fixed location in this country. There's more people in Lebanon, in Israel, in the Mideast that I know, friends and family of both kinds, people I'm connected to by flesh and blood and by other bonds that aren't any weaker for the intangibility.

So just...spare a thought, all right? For all that we bitch and whine here, in the UK, in other westernised cultures and countries, we are so, so very lucky. But then again, maybe in order to appreciate that, you have to see the other side of things.
