Well. I was excited to check my email about two hours ago and see the 'Your order has been dispatched' thingie from Amazon. HBP TOMORROW!
Ahem. As I was saying, I've been at the computer centre all night, engaging in (mostly) guilt-free skivving off and enjoying it immensely. Not much to report, except that someone caught me avidly reading Volosinov earlier and backed away slowly, just as a completely different person heard me quoting Oppenheimer's line, 'I am become death, shatterer of worlds,' about ten times in quick succession. No, I'm not inventing a new mass-killing machine, but a new story. I think it should work rather well, and now that you know what either the beginning or the denouement turn out to be, eh. Whatev.
Jackie drove me home from Cambridge yesterday. It was nice to have such a hassle-free trip. I'm still not quite sure whether she did it because, as she claimed, it would have been too much of a bother to get through London (not that I thought it would have been much of one) or because she's more afraid of me being in the city than I am. Either way, we got stuck in orbital traffic. No surprise there.
It's less than two weeks until I come home now, which means I need to buckle down on the dissertation. Most everything's coming together surprisingly well now that I have a new outline (v4.5) and a thesis statement, so I'm going to try and do a section a day in rough and see how that works. If it doesn't happen, I'm not going to be too upset.
Not much else. Looking forward to catching up on some sleep now that I'm not scheduling out my days in three hour chunks. All hail sleep!
