video/action

[ The video feed's on only because there is one person, specifically, that Castiel is looking out for. ]

I missed the influx last time. This one doesn't seem so bad.

[ ooc: anything goes, anything at all, feel free to action anywhere if you'd like! ]

The influx is temporary. The strings aren't tied. They don't stretch, they break, but they can tie and ours aren't.

Yours is. It even has a bow.

It's a very nice bow, if you're worried. Shiny.

Not many would agree with you, River.

You know my name. But you know many names, several faces from several times, but they're all the same time to you. Because your knot is tied.

Do you prefer Cas or Castiel?

I have no preference.

You can see more than most -- it doesn't hurt you.

[There's something of a flinch at the word 'hurt.']

Pain is...subjective. Tens and hundreds and billions of neurons in the nervous system but it all goes back to the brain and the brain can lie, can hide and trick and fool, can't be trusted. A hundred billion neurons, you don't think one of them might lie? But maybe it's all a lie, the difference between physical and chemical and mental, emotional....pain.

[What were we talking about again?]

It...hurts. But I can see. And I can see you too, Castiel. Why Thursdays?

It's an assignment. I obeyed.

[ He wants to get a better look at her, and starts to circle around. ]

The true me should have burned you out from the inside. You're special.

[Oh, that looks fun. She'll start circling too!]

You're special too though, right? You obeyed - past tense, because you don't. Not anymore.

[ Are they dancing? Castiel's never done that before. ]

I'm not special. I do what I must, and if that means disobeying...so be it.

fff html what are you oatyassassin October 3 2011, 01:52:53 UTC
[They could. She'd teach him. They don't even need music.]

Wrong. You feel that you must, which is why you're special. You feel. But you don't like that you feel. Not anymore.

[ He might like that, little albatross... ]

My feelings drive me to action. Isn't that their purpose?

[Well, that's good. Because she's starting to catch on to the tempo of his steps, matching the stiff movement of his feet with the fluid, almost bounce of her own.]

I don't know.

[She works a twirl in between the beat of his third and fourth steps before the pattern starts again, and it's back to the circling. She smiles.]

Do they need to serve a purpose?

Everything serves a purpose.

[ It's interesting, and he's curious enough to follow along, somewhat. It's similar enough to combat that Castiel can somewhat navigate the little path she's carving out for him. Less twirling, sure, Castiel's more concerned with the one foot over the other she seems to have mastered, on the balls of them. ]

Otherwise why should it exist?

Would you ask Him?

[It's become something of a game for River, and not just the footwork but the logic behind it. Every tap, tap, spin, tap of his feet and his head and his heart. Rhythmic and patterned but lost in the middle, focused and direct but unsteady and wavering. It's one thing to follow a dance - but to build your own?

A skip-two-spin-four...]

Does Fate decide? Why do you exist, Castiel? Cas.
