So I signed up to take a course on Vector Graphics at Cascadia Community College, (handily located just across from where I work) and I foolishly assumed they'd be teaching us to use Adobe Illustrator. Turns out we're actually going to be learning to draw with Macromedia Freehand MX, which I had never even heard of. So, a question for the geeks ( Read more... )

I haven't used freehand since early highschool but as i recall it was very similar, at least as far as the basic functions go. Also, if they're actually teaching vector graphics you should be able to generalize from program to program - just remember what the tools and functions you use are called and search the illustrator (or whichever program) help until you find that.

And I seem to remember that adobe bought macromedia last year. The biggest difference is probably going to be the interface.

On a side note (cause I have no idea what any of that is) do you need a copy of Adobe Suite? I think I have one that's destined for my cousin atm, but I can run off a copy pretty easily if you need it :)
