Title: The Races
Fandom: Fallout: New Vegas
Subject: Modern AU!Benny/Courier
Notes: A Benny/Courier mix set in modern Las Vegas
My first Fallout mix in 9 months! I actually started this mix ages ago and had the songlisting + covers already finished, but everytime I tried to make graphics for the songs, it never worked out the way I wanted. So, I finally got my ass in gear and fixed up the graphics (and altered my song choices - there were some pretty weird picks in there) Originally this mix was going to end with "The World is Not Enough," but then I remembered the cut content where, after freeing Benny from Caesar's tent, he would ambush you and try to kill you. Again. So, I threw that in there, too.
About the AU: while I don't bother to choose period-appropriate music for my Fallout mixes (it would be such a pain in the ass), I do try to avoid anything that's overly electronic/hip hop/pop and I built up quite a collection of songs for the Benny/Courier pairing that I didn't want to use in a normal mix. Hence, the AU. I also just really like picturing Benny and the Courier in a modern setting - the huge urban sprawl of modern Las Vegas, flashy cars, dance clubs, etc... So, there's not a whole lot of creativity in this AU - it's just the same story in a modern setting (also an excuse to picspam gorgeous photos of Las Vegas).
