Wandering

Hands deep within his robes, Regulus paced the length of the common room. His feet were soft but every so slightly audible as he passed by other students, a slight grimace upon his face. He barely noticed as he trampled a small forlorn red pawn from a wizard's chess set into the floor, grinding the base into fine powder with his heel.

After several turns, Regulus realized that this was both becoming repetitive and annoying his fellows to some degree. Actually, it was the poorly aimed Leg-Locker Curse that tipped him off, as it caused an unfortunate first-year to fall in his path.

He thus wandered out into the corridors of the school, passing by Slughorn's office and the Potions classroom with little interest. He began to go up levels, looking into rooms aimlessly.

Nothing had ever come of that plan to gain entry into the Gryffindor Common Room with the use of little Pettigrew. Peter had taken the potion, but Noreen hadn't acted fast enough and- well, nobody could have predicted that Slughorn would show up. It was a fairly good thing that he mistook their gathering for an attempt to revive Pettigrew, for if he hadn't...

Regulus grimaced and peered into another room, shouldering the door open slowly. His feet disturbed a thin layer of dust as he passed within.

He gazed upon a ruin of perhaps a class lecture hall, much like the History of Magic classroom in its distinct lack of interest to him.

Carefully, he closed the panel door behind him as he left, turning to proceed further up from the dungeons.
