I picked up Leopard on Friday,
lyticalswan and I were downtown at the Apple store so she could place her order for a Mini (2GHz processor, 2GB of RAM). Caught up in the swell of fan-ism, I purchased OS 10.5 to justify my free t-shirt. It was installed later that night. Overall, I like it. It’s a nice update.
Everything runs much faster and smoother. Firefox is the biggest example of this. One downside I’ve noticed is that the applications I have set to run at launch don’t necessarily hide themselves even though I tell them to. Now that I have located where the Downloads Stack is kept in the file structure, I can save all my various downloads directly to that. Why Apple did not make it an option in the quick-select destinations on the left-hand side of the download menu I don’t know. Another welcome addition has been the iCal update. That is brilliant. The new design is clean and got rid of the tray on the left that I absolutely hated.
The downside is that my
preferred journaling software does not work since I updated. I am now writing in iJournal and it’s going pretty well. This will have to suffice as a substitute until XJournal comes out with a fix or replies to my e-mail I sent the company.
