so christine said she'd come back to philly and take my finals for me. so i gave her some practice problems for my biochem final. she rocks.
SxxyBtch6969: 1) Are proteins an efficient way to store energy? Explain. - i say no, and here's why.. personally i prefer to store my energy in that of a chocolate bar. they taste better than regular old protein bars and the sugar gives you a better rush of energy than those grainy wannabe's.
2) Name as many essential dietary constituents as you can. Describe why each is essential. - Well, i'm not quite sure what a "constituent" is. however, to my diet, i find the following items essential:
*Pasta - as an italian i find the staple of any meal is a nice bowl o' noodles.
*chicken - good source of the aformentioned protein, and it is so very yummy.
*asian men - granted, you don't necessarily "eat" them, but i prefer to have them around when i am eating because they're just so damn pretty.
3) Which yields more ATP, the complete oxidation (to CO2 and H2O) of two alanines and four fructoses OR two ethanols and one oleate (an 18 carbon fatty acid)? (show your work) - i refuse to answer this question due to my religious affiliation.
4) After a busy afternoon of frisbee football you realize that you have a cut on your arm. It was probably from that punk in the red shirt. Regardless, a fibroblast (skin cell) near the site of the wound will soon receive a signal to grow and divide to begin the healing process. In detail (pathways, enzymes, modes of regulation) describe how the fibroblast will likely alter its metabolism after receiving this signal. - the fibroblast will fix everything, then jump out of the body to kick that punk's ass.
5) How will a cell adjust its metabolism in response to elevated AMP (not cAMP) levels? (your answer should address multiple pathways). - Well, the amp goes up, so the cell has to chill out and let the amp take over for a little place. plus, it'll take multiple pathways. hellz yah.
6) How will a cell adjust its metabolism in response to elevated cAMP (not AMP) levels? (your answer should address multiple pathways). - When camping (by the way, fix your caps lock key)... you should always adjust to life outside of your house and the normal ammenities (ex: bathroom). you can follow multiple pathways to find a spot to create a new bathroom.
