so i am such a rockstar now. its great. jackie patton and i headed up to asbury park to see u-no and vaco at the stone pony. u-no's lead singer/pianist gregg and their manager ryan totally hooked us up and got us tickets and booked us a hotel room outside of scary asbury park so we wouldnt be murdered. so we get there after running totally late and get our cab over to the stone pony. got there in perfect time for u-no to take the stage. it was a really small crowd too which was nice. so we introduce ourselves to ryan, who then proceeds to check up on us throughout the night to make sure we're having fun. u-no played a great set. then vaco totally rocked. they played a lot of their townburg album which was good cuz those are my favorite songs, and of course did a sweet cover of no diggity, complete with bongos and cowbells. so it ends and we goto head out and say goodbye and thank you to ryan, who tells us to call him tomorrow to go over to his place for a party. so we go outside, call a cab and park it on a curb (since of course we did just spend the 2 hr vaco set shakin our booties.) so ron comes out (u-no's guitarist) and is like hey what are you guys doin and we're like, waitin for our cab. and hes like, no. really? so he's like follow me, so of course being the crazies we are we follow him to his car, (which ps is totally pimped out, i'm super jealous) get in, and he takes us to the after party at ryans, which we stayed at till about 5 am. oh yes, we partied with the rock stars. and they're the nicest guys ever. i'm bringing a whole crowd of people with me when they come to philly (they're hot, and all single;)) so we get back to the hotel and pass out, calling the front desk at 11 to say we're gonna have to check out late cuz we were too dead to move.
we bailed out of the gavin concert cuz we were both exhausted and finding something to do in jersey for 8 hours was not going to happen. but thats fine cuz when we initially bought the gavin tix it was really to see michael tolcher and virginia coalition, who we got to see when gavin bailed. hes a lil too whiney to listen to for hours on end anyway. ryan called again though later to see if we were coming over, unfortunatly we were already back home. but yes, i am a rockstar, and had such a blast.
i've been thinking recently, and when you're little everyone always tells you that you can do whatever you want, you can be whatever you want... etc. you dream of your dream job, house, family, etc. but when you get older you start to realize that you really cant have everything that you want and all of your dreams cant necessarily come true. it comes down to compromising. you can put all of your dreams and stuff out on the table, but it isnt necessarily going to work out exactly how you want it. not that thats a bad thing. but you're dream job is compromised based on who will hire you for what position, you're dream wedding/house/family is compromised with whoever you are marrying. haha i probbaly sound crazy. but it was just a thought i had when i couldnt fall asleep last night.
