Alex showed up, but he couldn't speak at first, just gesture.
His eyes had started to water a little by the time he got to my place.
I took him into my room, and showed him Kether's (my computer's) inappropriately material form, all perfect angles and lines, corrupted into perceivable matter, crashed edges-first into Malkuth. No wonder it'd broken.
He used crafted metals tools to loosen parts and examine them in the light. I think he was looking for the points of burn through that I couldn't identify... spots where the vessel couldn't contain what has been passed through it.
We found nothing.
Bits and pieces were gathered, tools were used, and he slowly mended the angles and lines. Seals and connections were repaired.
And then, finally, at the point when his head had begun to go transparent with the effort of holding it in his system, he leaned down, lips pressed to the one still open space in the whole of Kether's frame...
... and he blew a lungful of magic smoke back into it.
So now all is right with the world (in a very localized and limited sense), and the light has returned in the proper forms and functions to the computer.
Now if I could just shake this cough. I think next year, no matter how AMAZING the proposition is, I need to quarantine myself from cat fur.
