Cloverfield
Saw it last night. It's a damn good film. It's not what you expect and at the same time it's everything expect from a movie with a giant monster. I really enjoyed it. The movie gives you the perspective that none of those other films do. What is it like to be one of those people down in the streets whose homes are being smashed, and whose friends are dying.
Don't go see this expecting some scientist to pop out of no wherte and telll you where the creature comes from, you won't get it. This is about normal people and the incredibly terrifying situation they end up in, and how they deal with it. Since it's shot on a handy cam you'll get to that in a very personal and up close fashion, you will feel like the guy holding the camera in this movie.
