Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about a new and most wondrous organization. HCFC. The Humboldt County Friars Club. This has been the brainchild of Elvin Chef, Opera Dave, and I. Here's the idea. E.C. (not God for those of you who love music) is having a themed party in a few weeks, at which point the Friars Club will be truly announced. Ideally, we will hold a roast once a month (maybe every other) or so. The roastee get everything they want. Roasters have to buy their own drinks, and the drinks of the roastee. Guests have to buy their own drinks and pay a small ticket fee. Why are you charging you ask? Well for one, we like alcohol and a large place to hold this shindig. Both of those cost money. Secondly, and far more importantly, the monies left over will go to the charity of the roastee's choice. No one will be roasted against their will, and no guests will ever be the butt of any joke (unless they coordinate because they want to be or something odd like that) only the roasters and roastee will feel the heat of witty battle. There is a bit to be worked out on this yet, that's why I'm throwing this out there. We need three things. A venue that's inexpensive, a venue with a liquor license, and a venue that's down with the premise. So, what do you think?
