Q&A -- Zelda 2.0

Oct 02, 2009 18:10

Q: Is she an all-in-one "amalgam" of Zeldas?
A: No. She remains TP!Zelda, just with traces of other Zeldas. The best way I can describe it is like picking out all of the raisins or chocolate chips from a Chex Mix bowl. It's a chocolate chip, definitely, but you can still taste a little nut. :D That analogy works in more ways than one.

Q: Can she remember who she is exactly?
A: Some memories seem truer to her, but that doesn't mean they are her correct memories (for instance, she's convinced she has a brother). She'd like to know what memories are actually hers, but she not (as of October 2nd) sweating it.

Q: Which Zeldas does she recall? To what degree?
A: Strong doses of: OoT, ALttP, AoL, TMC
Medium doses of WW, MM (as in who OoT Zelda became in split-timeline)
Tiny doses of PH, Oracle
The odd memory, like a dream of a dream, of LA, LoZ

So...all of them.

Q: Can she remember past ZDR-related events?
A: Yes and no. It's very jumbled since many of the people she encountered at zelda_dressing she knows through her dreams as well. Some ZDR memories contradict "canon" memories.

People the Zeldas never met canonically (such as Termina characters) she'll either have a easier time remembering, or she'll attempt to put them in other memories.

Q: So, how do the memories affect her?
A: Hyrule seems out of place to her. She might be confused about where to go or how far to go sometimes. The land itself helps her orient who's who ("wasn't there a city called Rauru here?"), and gives her a sense of self, but that doesn't stop her from being dazed and confused at times.

She might have a flashback at any given time. These flashbacks (like acid, man) occur in three different ways:
Sleeping: She passes out suddenly, bombarded by memories of one or more Zeldas.
Waking: She freezes what she's doing and begins to remember a particular event, or a stampede of many memories overcomes her. She may babble aloud about what she's seeing.
Active: Almost always through a trigger event, Zelda will begin to act out a particular memory from any time, possibly and suddenly switching between that Zelda's memories or another Zelda entirely.

Mostly, she will appear confused (Links and Sheiks are really going to blow her mind; Zelda's will confuse her but help make sense of her memories) and distant.

NOTE: If your character truly believes Zelda is a particular princess (or just wants to mess with her), she may assume that personality for a time being.
