Still Alive, I Swear
Here's an update, by popular request. =o]
I moved to Tennessee last week to live with catbird, with whom I'm very much in love. We had talked about it a bit before the actual decision was made, but I wound up moving on about 3 weeks notice. The last couple weeks in CA were insane, because I was working through it all, plus about a million other things kept coming up (like my dog dying, then my grandfather the following week). It's been a crazy, stressful time, but it's all come together now. I'm very happy being with catbird, and it was worth every second of insanity to get here.
As for current plans, right now I'm trying to see whether I can make a supplemental income off of poker while catbird works a real-people job at Oak Ridge National Labs. I've also been trying to get back into chess a bit, which has been fun. Basically, I'm taking advantage of being something of a "house husband", as it were. *grins*
I'm still trying to figure out exactly how I'm using LJ--I hadn't expected to leave California so suddenly, so I was just assuming I'd still be in touch with lots of people. I'm really awful about keeping up friendships through electronic methods (part of the reason I moved out to TN, in fact), but I'll work on it.
