my weekend
so yesterday, i stained the deck. honestly, i'm a make-it-work type, but i was all in favor of scrapping the deck and building a new one. but after it was powerwashed it looked a little better...and a few nails hammered back in. then after the stain, it looked damn good. so i guess it breaks down like so many things in life: you can either say, i like this deck enough to work on it and fix it, or i don't like this deck enough to try to fix it - i want to start over.
but the staining didn't go without anything going wrong. i'm kinda sunburnt, and i definitely had stain from head to toe...that is to say, there was stain on my body from my head to toe, but i wasn't necessarily covered. one of my favorite moments was when i was pouring the stain into the pan the wind blew the stream of stain onto my feet. That shit is NASTY to get off. but i used vegetable oil...it's the concept behind soap: a light oil will get a heavy one off. so i had vegetable oil all over myself...not the most pleasant....
in other news, i saw ma'am at church today, and she was so happy to see me (i was happy to see her too.)
oh yeah, and i ran into my cousin, gia, today, and she asked if i wanted to go see an inconvenient truth with her on friday. and let me tell you, nothin gets me more excited than a political documentary...i really can't wait to go.
oh, and i think i'm gonna have a lesson with dr. mciver soon...and i can't wait.
