Boom.
so, opening weekend at the store = highest sales of any barnes & noble in the company. translation: over the weekend i worked at the busiest bookstore in the world.
the store is a success, but so much so that we have been caught a bit off guard. we're shorthanded as a result, and despite our best efforts there are a lot of fumble moments going on. bah. oh well. i'm used to working and being on my feet all day, but at the end of my shifts i'm exhausted and my feet are killing me. hopefully i'll get used to the increased walking soon.
computer repair = failure. massively corrupted hard drive, had to reformat. many many pictures gone now. backup lesson learned.
i'm reading william gibson's pattern recognition now during the subway commute, and i'm enjoying it. then i'm reading 'the city and the city' by mieville, and then who knows...
