Regina's First Field Trip
12 May 05 - Today is Regina's first field trip with her school....yes, she was excited about it and on the way to school, kept reminding me that "regina is not going to school, going to farm". I had to keep telling her that we have to get to school first, then go to the farm in a bus, with her teachers and friends. Finally we reached the school and the big bus was waiting right outside. The teachers applied repellants for them and up the bus she went (urhm ... mummy went along this time to kpo :>)
There were 2 farms altogether. The first was ABIU FARM ... a fruit farm. (Abiu is a fruit which tastes quite nice .. sweet!) After alighting from the bus, we had to walk in about 5 mins to reach the farm. It was still drizzling then and the pavements were muddy and wet. Regina kept asking to be carried but I distracted her and made her walk! The uncle from the farm greeted us and brought us around the farm...haha. .. nothing like what I (and maybe, the kids) expected at all cos didn't really see that many fruits leh. Anyway, I think Regina was either too hungry to enjoy herself or simply dislike the muddy place :( She only had a cup of milo in the morning and I blurly left her biscuits in her school bag at school. Even worse, there were lots of mozzies tagging along ... u can easily get them by just clapping your hands! The thing the kids enjoyed most abt this farm was the fruit tasting part ... they got to try the ABIU fruit, which actually cannot be found in the market. The next thing they enjoyed was the kois (haaha ... not quite anything to do with FRUITS!)
On the way to the 2nd farm, Anna distributed some chocs and this must have energised Regina! :) We reached the Aerogreen Farm soon and this is where they grow aeroponics vegetables. Vastly different from the first old & muddy farm! This is clean, concrete and without mozzies! AND the first place we went to was a nice AIRCON room to watch videos :) THIS, the children all enjoyed!!! In fact, Regina enjoyed this farm better ... haa... i gathered it's either she's a "concrete" gal or the chocs gave her the energy burst ;P Anyway, she enjoyed running around, and didn't cling to me here.
Soon, it was time to leave and up the big bus went everyone .... reached school at around 12pm, just nice for lunch ... & it was still drizzling.
All buckled up & waiting for the bus the set off
