Not a lot going on here -- staying busy knitting and looming and hanging out in preparation for the weekend. Today is payday, so Ron and I are going to be dining out. Not that we haven't been doing really badly here at home. Ron cooked salmon filets and some oriental noodles last night that were just really tasty. The fish was glazed with a ginger and maple glaze that made such a delicious touch. Tonight we're also off to the KU fitness center to check out the scene. I'd much rather play in the swimming pool, but I need to have a better rounded workout.
Of course, one must have gym duds to exercise in. So it'll be off to OP/KC on Saturday to score some new things to wear. Thanks to Mom, I have a small grubstake at Penney's so I can pick up some new threads. Not that I need a whole bunch, but some basics will flesh out what I have. Then for Ron its off to Big and Tall to get him some gym gear. Sorry folks, no iPods, etc. this trip. We might get some memory cards for our Palms though.
This week has been pretty pleasant -- the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet is coming up at Audio Reader
http://reader.ku.edu as well as the fall fund raiser, "For Your Ears Only." So entertainment and good food are in the forecast for the hardworking folk at A-R.
My boss, George will be dropping in tomorrow morning to help cover a couple absentees and to catch up on how things work on the weekends. I'll be glad to have him aboard. I may end up reading some material for the KC Star that day, but hey -- all in a day's work. Sunday means volunteer training, which means I get to do a bit of cramming the day before so I can accurately transmit the info to the volunteer taking that section.
