Okey donkey, this is for Liz!
•YES! I had a blast!
•We worked with the little french kids, painted a church, sang on the street at a music festival, varnished doors, sang in church services...and saw some amazing stuff! oh, and in italy we ATE!
•We went to Paris and Lyon (in France) and Florence and Venice (Italy)!!
•Oh boy! We saw a whole mess of Catholic churches...just because they're pretty much the only kind of churches they have over there, lol! Like, Notre Dame, Sacre-Coeur, St. Paul's, St. Jean's...they were really pretty, but some of them kind of freaked me out because of how they were pretty much straight up shrines to Mary! Especially the basillica in Lyon...oy.
Plus we saw the Eiffel Tower, a medival city, a a bunch of other crazy crap! Oh, and the Mona Lisa; and Michaelangelo's David! Plus Venus de Milo...and the crown jewels of France. The Louvre was awesome!
Sigh...it was good. It was smelly, but good. The food was amazing (creme brulee is my new favorite dessert!); and I got ot see some people who really love Jesus. I mean, they're fighting such an uphill battle...I know France doesn't sound like a huge mission field, but think about it--what comes to your mind when you think of France? Lots of materialism, right? And the people are really private, so a relationship with God isn't something you're going to be able to just start talking about right off the bat...plus, the Catholic church has said that anything not Catholic (i.e., Protestants....especially the evangelical church) is a CULT. And people really believe it! So there's that to contend with....yeah, it's an uphill kind of thing. But the people we worked with are so faithful; it's awesome! So, I've definitely added a couple churches and peopel to my prayer list lol...
Now, for the
pictures!
This is a little boy who was at the street music festival in France...we did puppets for the kids, and this guy loved them!
This is the Metro station at the Notre Dame stop...gorgeous for a subway station, in my opinion!
Notre Dame...so pretty, but the tourists were sucky. We ran there in the rain from the Metro station, which was cold and insane, but necessary. And we were in skirts. But, it makes a good story, lol.
This is the airport after I got home...and me finding out that Wyatt shaved his hair off; lol.
Ah, that's enough for now. I still have other cameras to get developed!
