That certainly was an odd curse.

I think the hospital is always hiring, although it might be hard to avoid the smell of blood. Maybe you could keep a spare set of clothes in a locker to change into?

Did your friend manage to, er, solve her problem that day?

Huh. It was weird.

Thanks, but I had another job offers that don't involve blood. I'm afraid my friends' senses are sharp when blood is involved.

Oh, Shoukei? She's fine. It seemed it was just a curse, after all. Thanks for helping out.

Really? Do your friends have specialised noses, like dogs? A clan of ninja in my village are like that.

That's good to hear. No problem, it can be pretty scary when you don't know what's happening.

Not... really, but they are aware of blood. It's in their nature.

Yeah. It's always scary, even when you know, she got frightened because the women of her world, my world now, don't get pregnant or get periods. She really thought she was badly wounded.

Are- are they some sort of vampires, your friends?... Not that I thought those existed, but, well, anything is possible here.

I understood that, eventually. I hope you managed to help her out okay.

Huh? Vampires?

The... opposite of vampires. They are Kirins.

Yeah. I got it under control. Thanks, anyway.

Kirin?
...that's amazing! I thought those were mythical as well...
that's really the opposite of evil, yes... Wow.

They are mythical in most worlds I guess. The place we come from, all those gods and creatures are facts of life.

That must be a pretty amazing place!

Huh.

It's just a world, with its problems, like any other.

Yes, of course it must be to you... It just seems amazing to me, to be able to live with what I see as mythological beasts... And to know that the gods are really... Real.

It's amazing to me too. I was brought into that world, mine is pretty much mundane without magic or gods or immortality outside of fiction and religion. It was all a reality shock, first.

But, after a while, things are the same as any other world. There's poverty, famine, deaths, wars, things like that.
